Poetry: “When God Wants To Drill A Man”

When God Wants To Drill A Man

When God wants to drill a man,
And thrill a man,
And skill a man
When God wants to mold a man
To play the noblest part;

When He yearns with all His heart
To create so great and bold a man
That all the world shall be amazed,
Watch His methods, watch His ways!

How He ruthlessly perfects
Whom He royally elects!
How He hammers him and hurts him,
And with mighty blows converts him

Into trial shapes of clay which
Only God understands;
While his tortured heart is crying
And he lifts beseeching hands!

How He bends but never breaks
When his good He undertakes;
How He uses whom He chooses,
And which every purpose fuses him;
By every act induces him
To try His splendor out-
God knows what He’s about.

    An old favorite which still tingles my spine and stands erect my arm hair.
    Thanks for including this in your poems.

    Where’s the rest of the poem?
    When God wants to wake a man and shake a man and wake a man
    When God want to take a man to do His future’s will
    He tries with all His skill
    When He yearns with all His soul to create him large and whole

    Sustaining, uplifting, and profound. Even through the darkest nights, the light of God’s people will shine brightly like the stars of haven.

    You’ll encounter a change in your lifestyle after undergoing this bariatric surgery. Bariatric surgery, the surgical reduction of stomach volume, has been performed for decades in the United States. Some even turn to gastric bypass surgery to battle the bulge.

    To be chosen for this assignment from our Lord is to know the Father is above us; the Son our Jesus is before us, and the Holy Spirit is within us. Drill me Father for your purpose. This is the real meaning of “man-up”.

    fantastic submit, very informative. I’m wondering why the
    opposite specialists of this sector do not understand this.

    You should continue your writing. I’m confident,
    you have a huge readers’ base already!

    Would like to comment on the poem as it was written by my grand father in the early 30’s . I have the original in his hand writing. It has 2 more verses which no one has seen.

    Elaine,
    This poem was quoted from memory in a Bible Study tonight. Many were touch by it. Would you be willing to share the other 2 verses?

    SMALL correction:
    The fourth line in the last stanza of this great-but-anonymously-written poem should read:
    ‘And WITH (not WHICH) every purpose fuses him;’

    I would love to hear or read-from ‘Elaine’ who entered the comment on October 13th, 2013: “Would like to comment on the poem as it was written by my grand father in the early 30’s . I have the original in his hand writing. It has 2 more verses which no one has seen.”
    Anyone know-of or heard-from her since her last post?
